Barite paper is mostly known as black and white paper from the dark room era. It was renowned for its excellent blackness and beautiful long tone scales. Combined with the typical "lacquer", this provides the classic image in black and white photography. In the meantime, barite paper has been transformed into digitally printable paper, with the same blackness, long tone scale and lilac. Of course, barite pies today are also useful in color photography. Like fine-art paper, barite paper meets the high demands of, among other things, museums and galleries with regard to durability and color fastness.
