Natural look with visible wood grain
A photo on spruce wood gives your image a warm, rustic feel. We use 19 mm thick spruce planks with a pronounced grain and natural knots. Each plank is approximately 10 cm wide and placed vertically by default. In the editor, you can choose whether to mount the planks vertically or horizontally. The preview shows all lines, allowing you to position important elements like eyes or mouths away from the seams.
White wash as standard for optimal printing
We always apply a white wash primer to maintain colour brilliance while preserving the wood’s texture. This means white areas in your image remain white. Prefer a fully natural look, where white is not printed and shows the wood tone? This is available only on request via info@photogift.eu.
Mounting and suspension options
The back of the panel includes strong horizontal support slats for a floating wall effect. You can optionally order sturdy metal hangers, ideal for both small and large formats.
Delivered by our own logistics service
For sizes from 80×120 cm and larger, we deliver via our own logistics network. We offer twice-weekly delivery in the Amsterdam region and weekly delivery throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. We always contact you in advance to coordinate your delivery.

Board width & sizes
The planks are approximately 10 cm wide. Depending on the chosen size, your panel consists of a specific number of planks, so you know exactly where the seams will appear. Whitewash or natural?
With whitewash (our most popular finish) colors appear fresh and vivid—ideal for portraits. The wood tone is minimized while the grain remains subtly visible. This is our standard on all wood products. If you specifically want the natural look, this is available on request only. Your photo is then printed directly onto the wood: knots and grain remain clearly visible and white is not printed. Beautiful for rustic images or special designs (as shown below), but less suitable for standard photos and portraits.
Mounting & installation
During ordering you can add a metal hanger. It is screwed to the back and makes wall mounting simple and secure. The standard thickness of 19 mm ensures a sturdy, robust panel.
What is spruce wood?
Spruce wood (from the Norway spruce) has a distinctive texture with visible grain, knots and flames. We cut and sand the wood carefully to size so your photo is always printed on a safe, smooth surface. On the back, cross battens and screws connect the planks, leaving seams visible—necessary because solid wood naturally works.
Note: spruce wood responds to humidity and temperature. The seams may expand or contract slightly over time.
Origin & sustainability
Our spruce wood comes from responsibly managed forests in Scandinavia, the Baltic states and Central Europe. We use only FSC and PEFC certified wood.
