Bold wall decoration with character
Your image is printed on 28 mm thick scaffolding wood planks with a rugged grain pattern. This sturdy wood type gives your photo a warm, artistic look, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The planks are approx. 9.5 cm wide. In our editor, you’ll see a live preview of the plank layout on your image and you can choose whether the planks run horizontally or vertically. You can also check if important details like eyes or mouths fall neatly between the plank gaps.
White wash for vibrant colour – natural on request
To ensure optimal print quality, we apply a white primer (white wash) as standard. This retains the brightness of light colours while still showing the wood grain. Prefer a natural look where white areas reveal the wood tone? This is available on request only – please email info@photogift.eu. This option is not available through the online editor.
Floating effect and optional metal hangers
All wooden photo panels are fitted with rear cross slats that allow the artwork to “float” a few centimetres off the wall. You may also choose metal wall hangers for added stability.
Own transport for large formats
For sizes from 80×120 cm and up, we offer delivery via our own transport service. We deliver twice a week in the Amsterdam area and once a week across the Netherlands and Belgium. We’ll always contact you beforehand to schedule a convenient delivery.

Whitewash or natural finish?
With whitewash (our standard and most popular finish), colours appear fresh and vivid – ideal for portraits. The wood tone is softened while the grain remains subtly visible. A natural finish (without whitewash) is only available on request via info@photogift.eu. In this case, white is not printed, and knots and grain remain clearly visible. It creates a rustic effect, beautiful for special designs, but less suitable for portraits.
Floating effect & mounting
Each scaffold wood panel is delivered with sturdy cross battens on the reverse side, creating a floating effect a few centimetres off the wall. Optional metal hangers can be added for extra stability.

What is scaffold wood?
Scaffold wood is thick spruce wood traditionally used in construction and furniture. Our panels are carefully planed and sanded to ensure a smooth surface for printing. This way, your photo retains the authentic rustic character of scaffold wood, but without rough imperfections. Note: wood is a natural product and reacts to humidity and temperature. The seams between the planks may expand or contract slightly, and dimensions may vary.
